David de Jong – positive gear

The first time I talked with David about NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) I have to admit, I was a bit confused. Yet, it sparked my interest and we sat down in W+K studios to have a chat about becoming an NLP trainer. Anyone who knows David can agree that he’s one of the most positive & friendly IT people you’ve ever met, apparently there is a kind of science behind it.

What to do when you wake up grumpy? Why doing something your passionate about is important to your mental state? Why thinking that you’re happy won’t help? And what is NLP?

We dive deep with David and we get excited about living life!

Chris Taylor – Werk Aan Zee

Each episode starts with a spacey soundtrack that Chris kindly gifted to our podcast. I met Chris at Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam and believe me when I say, he definitely leaves an impression. As the sun sets in the horizon, we sit in Chris’ balcony while the birds sing in the background and we talk about the sounds of music.

Chris tells us many stories about how he got into music, why he never pursued a professional musical career, why he loves synthesisers and why music sounds better on the road.

We emerge into the stories and the memories of Chris Taylor and jam with him in his living room.

Teresa Montenegro – grl pwr

On a warm sunny day we visit Teresa in her central Amsterdam apartment. Teresa shared with us how her neighbour taught her to tattoo whiles her parents were dead against it. She also told us why you should never drink whiskey before being inked. How she creates dark techno music?

What’s your favourite tattoo? Why GRL PWR? Why you should lie to your parents whilst following your dream?

We got inked with Teresa and found out why “Avatar” was crucial in her tattoo artist career.

Boaz & Brooke – I like your hands, I bet you can draw

After climbing a thousand stairs we were warmly welcomed by Boaz & Brooke in their spacious Amsterdam apartment in De Pijp. Boaz & Brooke definitely keep themselves busy; Different Every Day calendars, Sad Animal Fact books, Pedal Powered Talk shows, many successful side projects and still finding time to make friends with neighbouring crows, be-friend Ashton Kutcher on social media and interview George Clooney…

But how? How to find time? How to recycle ideas that get killed? How not to be scared to share? Most importantly, how to make your passion project your full-time job?

We dive deep with Boaz & Brooke and we get excited about making ideas happen!

Nusara Chinnaphasaen – if you fail, order pizza

Nusara welcomed us into her cozy home and invited to sit down and for a chat with prosecco & croissants. As we sit at the table she makes our mouths water with amazing food stories.

She shares her love for food, what flavours remind her of childhood and why food is the best form of social media.

Most importantly, we chat about her food blog “Fork & Story”….

Alvaro Sotomayor – the ship of humanity

Alavro Sotomayor is a special guest on this podcast. We got to know him as creator of The Kennedys, as the Creative Director of Corona and as an absolutely amazing human being. Now, we sit with him in his studio shed (which is in the back garden of W+K) and discuss art, his latest exhibition and future plans.

Alvaro is the reason behind this podcast. The moment I heard him ask “what do you love” instead of ‘what do you do’ was the moment SideCast was born. If you hear a sound of keys, you will soon see him smiling somewhere round the corner…

But let’s talk about the ship of fools…
